VERDIQT

AI citations you can check, and POPIA in plain words

What VERDIQT does to keep AI-drafted outcomes defensible, and how it handles the personal information you capture.

AI cites from a fixed library

When VERDIQT drafts an outcome, the AI is instructed to use only the authorities supplied from its built-in library: the CCMA Case-Law for Commissioners (10th Ed, 2022/23) and VERDIQT's own curated notes on legislation and newer judgments.

It is told to quote those citations exactly and never invent one. If no library entry covers a point, it may use a well-known South African authority, but must label it "(supplemental authority)" so you know to check it yourself.

You stay the decision-maker

Every AI outcome is a draft. The chairperson must read it, check each fact against the hearing record, confirm any citation they rely on, and correct anything wrong before issuing it.

South African courts have criticised practitioners who filed AI-generated citations without checking them. VERDIQT is designed so that checking is quick, not optional.

Where your case information lives

Case, client and hearing details you type are stored in Lovable Cloud, hosted on Amazon Web Services in the European Union, and protected so only your signed-in account and team members you invite can open them.

When you use AI drafting, the relevant case details are sent to Google Gemini through Lovable's AI gateway to produce the draft. Documents you download are saved to your own computer.

POPIA in plain words

You (the employer or consultant) are the Responsible Party for the employee information you capture, and you must give those people the required POPIA notice.

Because information is stored and processed outside South Africa, POPIA section 72 applies. VERDIQT relies on providers bound by data-protection laws offering substantially similar protection, including the EU GDPR. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
